TecnoCampus Mataró, a university and technology business park near Barcelona, hosted a panel discussion as part of Mataró's programme as the Spanish Capital of Social Economy 2026.

The session brought together a diverse audience, including the Mayor of Mataró, government representatives, Housing Europe, financial institutions and organisations from the social economy sector.

The challenge

With attendees from different countries and language backgrounds, it was important that everyone could follow the discussion in the language they were most comfortable with.

Rather than relying on a single event language, the organisers wanted to make the conversation accessible to an international audience.

The solution

For this event, Soundshape was supplied by Enfoca, our AV partner in Spain, who provided the equipment as part of the event setup. Soundshape was used on a paid try-before-you-buy basis.

Live captions and translations were displayed on a monitor in the room, while attendees could also access the service by scanning a QR code on their own device.

During the event, attendees used four different languages:

• Spanish

• Catalan

• English

• German

The QR code was scanned five times, resulting in four different language selections.

Attendees choose the language that works best for them, while organisers can make spoken content easier to follow for international audiences.
